The Story
A one-hour documentary born from the idea behind short film, "The 'C' Word" of 2010, conceptualised by film-maker Sean Lee Davies. Uplifting and inspiring, the story of Rae Leung's courageous journey breaks down the stigma, and association of cancer with only the elderly, showing how young adults, too, are affected and deal with the disease.

"Happened to catch your programme on NGC just 15 mins ago and am truly touched by your strength and positivity. Lost a friend a while back to stomach cancer and she was only 24. Your programme brought back lots of memories. Anyways, please continue to remain a beacon of hope and inspiration!
Best wishes for the future!"

"Hi Rae,
Just happened to catch your story on NatGeo tonight. I wanted to let you know how inspiring and informative it was for me, personally. My mother is going is currently going through treatment for diffuse large b-cell lymphoma and I arrived here in Vietnam approximately 2 months ago to care for her.
My thoughts and positive energy are with you, Rae. Continue to stay strong and beat the odds! I know you can kick this thing in the arse and will soon do so! I hope this message reaches you well. I wish you nothing but the best and that you will eventually conquer anything and everything that is thrown your way."

"Hi Rae, I don't know you, but we just watched the documentary about you on RTHK. My family were so touched by your passion for life, your courage, and your insistence on the ideals and values that you believe in.
In this very last night of the year of 2011, learning your difficult, sometimes painful, but yet powerful and heartening story, we understood more about life, about its meaning, as well as its limitations. We wish you have a healthy, or at least slightly more healthy, 2012. Keep your faith! We all support you [:)] "

"Dear Rae,
I just saw your inspirational documentary tonight on RTHK and was blown away by your motivation and spirit.
Your story really touched a cord with me - we share some similarities since I, too, am fighting cancer in Hong Kong, facing my second fight with this beast in my 30s. I have been a bit more deflated about things this time round but here I sit, with my big "bad-arse" bald head in awe (just had chemo yesterday, so please excuse any typos!) - THANKS for sharing your story, it was nice to see I am not alone in this City in so many regards... anyway, it has really made my night and I shall go into 2012 with a huge buzz!
Happiest of new years!"

"I, too, am a cancer 'survivor' (haven't yet found a more apt word to describe but this sure beats 'victim'). I was blessed enough to have caught my cancer at its very early stages - Stage 1 of Nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
Since then, I have taken a year out to work with the national cancer center in Singapore to ensure we build stronger awareness, empathy and a sustainable funding stream that goes towards better research.
Just wanted to say hi, and that I think you are such a champ. Through my journey, I was generally very positive and was blessed with minimal 'inconveniences', but your journey and approach to it was an inspiration.
Excellent reminder to me as we begin a new year... Hope this year gives you all the joy and blessings you deserve."

"I saw you on National Geographic tonight. I live in Korea as an Expat and you said it so well, do we have to be in such a hurry all the time, just slow down and have more patience. Thank you for your wonderfully insightful strength. Happy New Year to you and your family."
